How to Reset Your Business Email Password

If you're unable to sign in to your business email or need to update your password for security reasons, follow this guide to reset or change your password safely. The steps below apply to Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and Zoho Mail, all of which we support at OneStop Northwest.


When Should You Reset Your Password?

You should reset your password if:

  • You forgot your current password

  • You suspect unauthorized access

  • Your email prompts you to update it

  • IT instructs you to reset it for security compliance


Step-by-Step: Resetting a Forgotten Password

If you cannot log in to your email:


1. Go to Your Email Sign-In Page

Microsoft 365 / Outlook Accounts

Click Sign In.


Google Workspace / Gmail Accounts

https://accounts.google.com


Enter your email address.


Zoho Mail Accounts

URL:
https://accounts.zoho.com/signin


Click Next, then proceed to password step.


2. Click “Forgot Password?”

This link appears under the password input field on all platforms.


3. Verify Your Identity

You may be prompted to confirm your identity through:

  • A backup email

  • SMS verification

  • Authenticator app

  • Security questions (if previously configured)

Follow the platform-specific steps to complete verification.


4. Create a New Password

Choose a strong password that includes:

  • Uppercase & lowercase letters

  • Numbers

  • Special characters

  • Minimum 8–12 characters

Avoid reusing old passwords.


5. Log In with Your New Password

After resetting your password, sign in to confirm access.

Microsoft 365 / Outlook

  1. Visit
    https://myaccount.microsoft.com

  1. Select Security Info

  2. Click Password

  3. Enter your current and new passwords

  4. Save changes


Google Workspace / Gmail

  1. Go to
    https://myaccount.google.com/security

  1. Scroll to Signing in to Google

  2. Click Password

  3. Enter your current and new passwords

  4. Save changes


Zoho Mail

  1. Log in at
    https://accounts.zoho.com

  1. Go to Security in your account dashboard

  2. Select Password

  3. Enter your current and new passwords

  4. Save changes


🔒 Password Best Practices

To maintain account security:

  • Do not share your password

  • Avoid using personal or predictable information

  • Turn on Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

  • Update your password every 90 days

  • Use a password manager if possible
